Junction City Dragson Lose In Second Round Of Playoffs
By Wayne Pumphrey
The 2000 football season came to a sad conclusion Friday night for the Junction City Dragons, as they lost to the Charleston Tigers 28-14 in the second round of the class AA state playoffs. As in their earlier lose in the season to Rison, penalties and turnovers were the Dragons downfall. It was a game they very easliy could have won. Despite the lost however, Dragon head coach David Carpenter had nothing but praise for his team. "There are a whole bunch of folks around the state and country who want to be where we are right now, even in defeat," he said after the game. |
Dragon Seniors Leave Impressive 52-4 Overall Record
By Wayne Pumphrey
It seems to me that in today's society we have developed a win or else attitude. If we cannot win it all then anything else we may have achieved doesn't count. But I, for one, do not agree. I believe that what one accomplishes, if he or she does the best that they can, should be noted. With that said, I want to say something about 13 individuals who have indeed done the best that they could--Jamario Easter, Wes Murray, Adam Kennedy, Ricardo Richards, Peyton Cagle, Trey Barker, Tim Dorrell, Mario Easter, Jamie Sandifer, Adrian Wilson, Tony Hill, Caleb Wilson and Eric Cowser. These gentlemen were the seniors on the 2000 Dragon football team.. |
